Something Old New Again

You ever have an outfit that is no longer new, but you weren't ready to give it up? Almost a year ago I got this outfit although a year doesn't necessarily make it old, I wanted to sprouse it up a bit. I have been reading about elbow patches recently and thought that it would be pretty. I'm not sure if it worked because I didn't get any compliments, but it was fun to wear. I put these purple sequin patches on the elbow of the sweater.

NYC trends

Here's some of the trends I saw while in NYC. Really pretty flowy materials and unapologetic summer attire. At home we dress in heavy materials cut for summer heat. Not so here. Fabrics and cuts invite warm temps.

Feasible Combination or Odd Match

I saw this outfit on Polyvore and thought I'd try to recreate it with my tunic/dress from Old Navy. It's too short to be a dress and too long to be a shirt. It's odd but cute. I'm thinking I'll pair it with some shorts. We'll see.
