After years (literally) of trial and error I have finally found a sock that not only comes all of the way to my knee BUT also stays put! The problem hasn't necessarily been finding a sock that pulls but stays. The Merona Boot Solutions over-the-knee sock does well at both! At first I baulked at the $5/pair price, but soon went back for another color. $10 for two pair enabled me to go through my drawer and get rid of all of the unsuccessful attempts from years gone by. The sock is (for me) not too thick and not too thin. There is some extra material because it is meant to go over the knee but not so much that it aggravated me. The aggravation of pulling a sock up all day will always be greater than an irritation with extra material.
So that you know, some of the unsuccessful attempts include socks from the following: the Avenue, Target regular knee high socks, Walmart, Sears, KMart.
Are you a sock wearer? What's your favorite brand?

Simple Tee
Love the idea of a simple tee with a statement necklace. Definitely a winter style to do soon. Pic from Facebook Dresses

My Preferred Neutral
Last year I was in love with the color blush. I hunted for the muted tone in clothes, shoes, and makeup. This year, I can't get enough animal print. I'm loving any subtle pieces - shoes, boots, a shirt. Nothing to harsh, like a dress. Just pieces to use as neutrals. Here are some sample outfits from Polyvore:
Love the colors not necessarily the pieces of this one:
Here's some of what I've added to my collection:
My version of animal print shiny earrings. Forever 21 $6.80
Animal print flat Target $12
I only bought these boots because the were 70% off. I didn't like the elastic. Honestly, they are the most comfortable boot I own and you can't see the elastic with pants and jeans. Target $8
I have a very similar blouse from Lane Bryant (couldn't find pic online) $20
What's your favorite neutral this season?

Save Yourself
I have come to be able to save myself a lot of time, frustration, and money by being aware of what looks good on me and what doesn't... Even if I think it's cute. Here are items that do not work for me (all items taken from Walmart.com).
Any kind of shirt with a band close to the "smile." I must walk away.
Any cold shoulder shirt. Argh!
High low shirts are heck no shirts
Any shirt that has some sort of attachment (dicky, sown in, etc)
Shirts with fringe around the neck
Can you relate?
